Prix Voltaire de la photographie
The Prix Voltaire de la Photographie is aimed at photographers up to 35 years old, from the French-speaking world or from Europe, who wish to offer a contemporary view of the vast subject of portraiture.
So often explored, the photographic portraiture conceals endless treasures of originality in its treatment as in its theme. It can be social, aesthetic, journalistic, narcissistic, plastic, ethnic, fashion, in natural or artificial light, staged, surreal, abstract, in color as in black & white … There is no limit to the proposals that will be made.
These are therefore unique creations that the organizers of the prize wish to discover and then promote. They will also be particularly attentive to the quality of production of the proposed photographs.
Organized in partnership with the Centre des Monuments Nationaux, the Prix Voltaire de la Photographie aims to widely disseminate works by offering the public the opportunity to discover them within our cultural heritage.
This new prize is also intended to support young creators with an endowment but also by producing and then exhibiting their images while roaming. This will start at the Château de Voltaire. It is therefore natural that the prize borrows its name from Voltaire, patriarch of Ferney, philosopher of enlightenment and committed humanist.
All the details of the organization of the prize, as well as the methods of participation, are developed in the rules document.
